We are The Curators of Contemporary Craft, we are a small design studio, we specialise in high end corporate design, brand crafting, retail store environments, trend forecasting, illustration, apparel and limited edition decor accoutrements. We are dedicated to providing a service whereby we apply meticulous attention to detail, are inventive with our technique, collaborate with people whose work we admire, take calculated risks and make beautiful things with our bare hands.
KIM LONGHURST
Believes that craft is next to godliness. Kim gives new life to forgotten things, she likes to recycle everything except ideas. She is a mama, maker, designer, illustrator, painter, clay wrangler and collector. She also harbours a strong fascination for the anatomy of the human body. Her strength lies in the display and curation of large scale installation pieces which combine contemporary styling with ‘wunderkammer’ like exhibits and hand work. Her illustrations embrace storytelling, naive folk art, traditional crafts, curiosities, patterns and antiquities. Kim weaves dreams around the mundanities of life to make them beautiful. Her style is magpie and museum. Colour and detail is everything.
SCOTT ROBERTSON
Believes that typography is the soul of design. He combines his love of traditional sign writing techniques with technology to create letterforms that embrace nostalgia and the new. He is a father, maker, designer, illustrator, web site shaper and font collector. He harbours a strong fascination for all that is old skool. His strength lies in the construction of brand identities, from the conception of logo forms through to bespoke stationery, packaging and web site architecture. His illustrations embrace vintage Americana, surf and skate, and the perverse side of human nature. Scott evokes the inner artisan in his pursuit of the perfect font. His style is snapper and street. Time and form is everything.
